RECAP:
• Joshua Transitioned (Joshua 1:9)
• Joshua Trail-blazed the Path (Joshua 1:10-18)
• Joshua Seized the Opportunity (Joshua 2)
• Joshua is Leading Israel to Cross Over (Joshua 3)

Everything I prophesied has come true, and now I will prophesy again. I will tell you the future before it happens – Isaiah 42:9 (NLT)

Inheritance Means: Property passing to the heir or those entitled to succeed; legacy

Promise Land Means: A spiritual reality of real estate and a real state of the heart and the mind

Wilderness Means: A land that’s uncultivated and not fruitful, filled with temptation and testing…an opportunity for promotion while passing the 40 test, 40 days (Jesus) 40 years (Israel)

1 “Be careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multiply, and you will enter and occupy the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors. 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. 3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell. – Deuteronomy 8:1-4 (NLT)

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. – Matthew 4:1 (NLT)

1. I AM LIVING IN MY INHERITANCE
43 So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. 44 The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. 45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. – Joshua 21:43-45 (NKJV)

• GOD GAVE THEM ALL THE LAND HE PROMISED
• GOD GAVE THEM REST ALL AROUND AS HE SWORE
• GOD DEFEATED ALL THEIR ENEMIES SO NONE COULD STAND
• OUT OF ALL THAT GOD SPOKE, NOT ONE WORD FAILED
• ALL OF GOD’S WORD CAME TO PASS

2. I AM LIVING THROUGH MY COVENANT
1 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. – Joshua 3:1-4 (NIV)
So Joshua circumcised their sons—those who had grown up to take their fathers’ places—for they had not been circumcised on the way to the Promised Land. – Joshua 5:7 (ESV)

WILDERNESS – Commitment
PROMISED LAND – Covenant

3. I AM LIVING WITH GOD’S PEOPLE
God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet. – Psalms 103:6 (MSG)
22 Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything – and I do mean everything – connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, 23 a life renewed from the inside 24 and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you. – Ephesians 4:23-24 (MSG)

GOD’S CHARACTER REVEALS HE IS:
• Faithful
• Loving
• Joyful
• Peaceful
• Fruitful
• Loyal
• Generous
• Victorious
• Wise
• Holy
• Forgiving
• Generational
• All-Powerful
