On October 23, 2013 at Convocation, North America’s largest weekly gathering of Christian students, Mark Batterson spoke to students and faculty from Acts chapter ten on the power of prayer. He explained that “when you pray to God regularly, you will begin to see irregular things happen regularly.” Mark’s encouraging words served as a call to action for students to take a step of faith in the midst of God’s calling.

Mark Batterson serves as lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, DC. NCC is focused on reaching emerging generations and meets in theaters throughout the DC metro area. NCC also owns and operates the largest coffeehouse on Capitol Hill.

Mark holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Regent University and is the New York Times bestselling author of 10 books, including The Circle Maker, In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, Wild Goose Chase and most recently, All In. Mark is married to Lora and they live on Capitol Hill with their three children: Parker, Summer, and Josiah.
