“Becoming Anti-Fragile” – Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller

In this video

Pastor Bobby teaches that if Christ is in you, you are a lot stronger than you think, with his message: “Becoming Anti-Fragile.”

Our interview guest is Rev. Andy Bales, the CEO of Union Rescue Mission in LA. His life’s work is to serve his “friends experiencing homelessness,” while working to eradicate the epidemic of homelessness in the LA county. Several years ago, he contracted an aggressive infection while working on Skid Row, a main congregating point for LA’s homeless population. The infection took his leg. Nine weeks later, he was back out on Skid Row working with the people. For more information on Union Rescue Mission and their current projects, please visit https://urm.org/.

A returning Hour of Power favorite, Maiya Sykes is a soloist from Southern California. Sykes attended Yale with a triple major in Political Science, African American studies and Music Composition. She has performed with stellar artists and groups like Macy Gray and Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, and competed on “The Voice (2014).” Today, Maiya sings “If I Had a Hammer” (comp: Pete Seeger; Lee Hays) and “Never Enough” (comp: Benj Pasek; Justin Paul). She is joined by Desolina DeLauro, Jherimi Henry and Stevie Brock, and is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir, with soloist Samuel Capella, performs “True Light” (comp: Keith Hampton). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the piano.
