Today on #CrackYourBible, we’re talking about the afterlife for both Christians and non-Christians. While some people will try to argue that we simply fall asleep only to be awoken when Jesus returns, this idea couldn’t be further from the truth. Rest assured that where you’re going can be certain because we live in the Church age!

✝️ *From the Bible we know that:*
– When we’re apart from the body, we’re one with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
There is a division between soul and spirit and body. Hebrews 4:12
– Adam and Eve experienced a spiritual death. Genesis 2:16-17
– The rich man and Lazarus shows that people went to Hell and others went to Abraham’s Bosom. Luke 16:22-26
– David knew that God would save him from Sheol and come back from the dead. Psalm 16:10, 49:15, 86:13
– Jesus fulfilled David’s prophesy of being resurrected. Acts 2:29-31
– Jesus proclaimed victory over the evil spirits in Tartarus. 1 Peter 3:18-20
– The thief on the cross went to paradise that same day that he died. Luke 23:39-43
– Paul spoke of a man who had already gone up to the third heaven. 2 Corinthians 12:2-4
– Souls of the slain are under the altar in Heaven crying out for justice. Revelation 6:9-11
– The dead in Christ will rise first and meet Jesus in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
– Death and Hades will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:10-14
– Abraham and the patriarchs are looking forward to Jesus’ new city, the new Jerusalem. Hebrews 11:8-10, 13-16
