EARS TO HEAR – Learning How to Hear God’s Voice

John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me…”

In this message, Pastor Paul gives us seven questions to ask ourselves as we learn to recognize God’s voice:

1. Does it agree with the Bible?
God’s will will never contradict His Word. The Bible is God’s will for your life—make sure it matches up with His Word.

2. Does it make me more like Christ?
The real question is…. what would Jesus do? God’s plan is to transform us into the image of His Son.

3. Would this hurt somebody else?
If so, chances are, it wasn’t from God. God loves His children and calls us to love one another as He’s so loved us.

4. Is what you heard consistent with how God has shaped you?
God made you unique! He opens doors to help you thrive within your God-given gifts, talents and passions.

5. Does this concern my responsibility?
We all have a different responsibility on this earth from God! A calling that’s given to us that we must steward.

6. Is it convicting or condemning?
God doesn’t speak with condemnation. Condemnation is from the enemy and brings shame, conviction is from the Holy Spirit to bring us repentance.

7. Do I sense God’s peace about this choice?
Let the peace of God be your umpire in life as you make decisions. He gives peace that surpasses all understanding.
