God doesn’t work like a vending machine. Sometimes we pray to God as though he is going to give an immediate answer to everything we ask for. In Luke chapter 11, we see that effective prayer in answered when we seek, search and knock. Seeking after God means praying, but it also means we have to read and search for wisdom. It means we have to discern circumstances of our lives for deeper understanding and clarity. God doesn’t just want our ‘prayer vending machine requests’ – He wants a relationship with us, and through that relationship we will find God.
